A lot of people have asked me about which of the SARMS (selective androgen receptor modulators) was the most under-appreciated. My answer is most certainly Andarine (S-4), which is no longer in medical development, but still should be taken a close look at by those in fitness.
Andarine (S-4) was developed years ago by GTX Inc, a pharmaceutical company, in the hopes it would help with muscle wasting, stronger bones, and benign prostatic hypertrophy (known as BPH or enlarged prostate). Although they abandoned development, it still is used by athletes who acquire it from research companies, to help them with performance enhancing.
How it works
Andarine (S-4) attaches to androgen receptors selectively, just like every other SARMS (selective androgen receptor modulators). The beauty of this particular compound though is that it is mild due to it being a partial agonist, meaning things like your prostate will not be slammed. In fact, early studies showed that it can safely reverse DHT (dihydrotestosterone) effects such as head hair loss and enlarged prostate.
The relative efficacies of S-1 and S-4 in the prostate were 12% and 29%, respectively, compared with that of T propionate (TP). Therefore, in the presence of endogenous androgens, S-1 and S-4 could work as antagonists in the prostate and suppress prostate growth, suggesting their potential application in BPH treatment.
These findings created a major problem for drug companies who make a fortune selling 5a reductase inhibitors like finasteride (whom Donald Trump is rumored to use to keep his hair), and is likely the reason it was abandoned. These nasty drugs also cause negative side effects like libido loss, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle/strength, and mood changes. While Andarine (S-4) will not.
Anabolic steroid dangers
If we take a look at Andarine (S-4) from a fitness perspective we can tap into all the advantages it has over anabolic steroids. They are as follows:
*Enlarge the prostate, Andarine (S-4) will calm it down
*Speed up head hair loss, Andarine (S-4) can reverse it
*Can cause aggression, anger, and mood swings, while Andarine (S-4) will not
*Cause kidney and liver problems, while Andarine (S-4) does not
*Enlarge the heart and throw off lipid health, Andarine (S-4) does not
*Shut down the pituitary glands, Andarine (S-4) is only mildly suppressive temporarily
*Reduce sperm motility, Andarine (S-4) does not
*Increase estrogen problems, Andarine (S-4) does not
Now I’m not saying that Andarine (S-4) is going to blow you up 20 pounds or add 50 pounds to your bench press, but over the long term you can achieve just as good results by using it without all the awful side effects I mentioned above.
It is also safe for females, people who aren’t in shape, or people who are seasoned athletes. Anyone can use Andarine (S-4)!
Best ways to utilize Andarine
There are many ways to use Andarine (S-4) if you are an athlete. The first option is using it by itself (solo). This would mean running 50mgs a day for 8-12 weeks.
When stacking in the examples below, the recommended dosage is going to be 25mgs a day up to 100mgs a day. However 50mgs a day is the gold standard average dosage.
Historically one of the best cutting stacks has been the classic Andarine (S-4) and 20mgs a day of Cardarine (GW501516).
Or those who want to stack in anabolic steroids can use Winstrol or Anavar at 25-50mgs a day too.
Andarine (S-4) is also extremely good for strength with users reporting a bump in their lifts. Stacking it with LGD-4033 (Ligandrol/anabolicum) at 10mgs a day is a good mild strength cycle.
Those who want to be more aggressive can add in Trenbolone at 250mgs per week. This is a smart choice because the Andarine (S-4) will help offset some of the negative side effects from the Trenbolone.
Bodybuilders or those doing a recomposition:
One of the hardest things to do in fitness is adding muscle and losing fat at the same. For those who have poor genetics, this can be almost impossible without the help of performance enhancers. My favorite ‘recomp stack’ consists of Andarine (S-4) with 20mgs a day Cardarine (GW501516) + 10mgs a day LGD (anabolicum) along with eating in a deficit and training hard. You will see great results on that stack.
Those that want to use anabolic steroids with your S4, can stack in 500mgs a week of Primobolan or Equipoise, along with 200mgs a week of Testosterone Enanthate.
What Results can I expect overall
Andarine (S-4) results are dependent on many factors but we have seen users report gains in lean muscle mass of between 3-6 pounds, a loss of 1-2% of body fat and an increase in lifts of 5-15% over the course of 12 weeks. The best part are that these results are keepable.
To summarize: Andarine (S-4) does not aromatize into estrogen, does not cause a shutdown of the pituitary glands, is not androgenic, and will not cause DHT (dihydrotestosterone) issues.
However, there are 2 side effects it DOES have.
- It is slightly suppressive, meaning you will need to run a mini-post cycle therapy after using it. An example of a ‘mini-pct’ is Hcgenerate ES (n2generate ES) at 5 capsules per day for 4-8 weeks.
- It will slightly attach to androgen receptors which affect the eyes. This is nothing dangerous and it is only temporary. You may notice yellow tint if you are going from a lit room to a dark room (or vice versa), and/or you will notice a change in your night vision. Once you stop using the compound this issue goes away within a few days.
Half-life and detection
Andarine (S-4) has a very short half-life of under 8 hours so twice a day dosing is recommended.
Those who are tested in athletics should cease using this compound a month prior to your testing. There have been professional athletes busted for using, so I do not recommend trying to beat a test, and plus my opinion is cheating is wrong and you will get caught.
Where to purchase
Andarine (S-4) is becoming more difficult to purchase due to government and credit card processors cracking down in the past 2 years. Luckily sarms1.com still sells the best products. For more information on approved sources please check out our website at evolutionary.org.
